Topsy is a real time search engine that feeds off real-time internet data, primarily Twitter. It launched in late May 2009. Search rankings are prioritized by time and by relevance of the poster, so they tend to produce more “news” rather than converying the “pulse” of what’s going on for that topic in real time, as we’d see in a Twitter Search. They’ve raised $14.9m funding, debt and equity.
